BSNL have just announced 1 Gbps broadband via Fiber, using next generation optical fiber based technology. It could be sign of Broadband war among Airtel, BSNL and Reliance Jio. It can clearly be seen as Jio effect. Earlier we have witnessed Telecom war that created a competition among Telecom to give best Internet offer at best price.
The Telecom days were not over and now broadband war is going to take place, As Reliance Jio had already launched its Preview offer of Jiofibre Broadband two months back. Jio is offering 100 Mbps speed, with a cap of 100 GB per month cap.
However, Airtel is also matching both companies with its V-fiber Broadband service that had launched last year. But if we neglect every offering provided by both Private telecom BSNL is playing as a golden player. As BSNL optical fiber Broadband will provide 10 times more broadband speed. Now it will be interesting to see price war among these companies.

The Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha himself has launched the next generation optical-fiber based technology, which will help BSNL to offer ultra-high speed broadband connection across 44 Indian cities.
The serviced is to be called next generation optical transport network (NG-OTH). It is said that the project is being developed at an expense of Rs 330 crore.
The Minister said, “BSNL has successfully implemented a major project of next generation optical transport network (NG-OTH) technology in 44 cities covering state capitals and major cities. Under this project, total 100 major cities including state capitals shall be covered in phased manner during current financial year,”
What is BSNL Broadband currently offering?
BSNL chief general manager (CGM) Anil Kumar Jain,says BSNL is offering 24 megabit per second speed for fixed line broadband connection and 100 mbps speed on FTTH network.
After this upgrade, the existing 10G capacity will be enhanced to 100G capacity, thereby propelling maximum speed of 100 Mbps for BSNL broadband users.
He said, “With this upgradation, we will be able to provide connection with speed of up to 1 gigabit per second on FTTH networks in all state capitals and other top cities,”
